Attention to Detail for Success.
I still remember the exact moment when I learned just how important attention to detail is. It was early in my career, and I had been standing at the spa reception for hours, focused on my tasks, greeting guests, and ensuring operations ran smoothly. Then, the General Manager walked over, looked down, and casually said, “Have housekeeping take care of those black marks on the baseboards.”
Black marks? I followed his gaze and felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me. They were right there, next to where I had been standing all day long. How had I not seen them? That moment stuck with me—not because of the GM’s comment, but because it made me realize something fundamental.
