Holiday Celebration for Success.
5 Festive Ways to Celebrate the Holidays With Your Team!
Celebrating your team during the holidays is one of the most rewarding feelings I have experienced over the years. This feeling of giving has always cheered me up and gave me those holiday vibes we all love. At the end of the year, you want to give back for the hard work everyone put in this year.
I know, often there is no budget, and this year more than ever… it has been a tough year! Therefore we got some tips for you on how you can make this holiday season memorable for your team and have them feel your love!
Saying THANK YOU and celebrating your team can go a long way. That’s why you do not want to miss this. But, again, I hear the challenge with limited budgets. I have been there too. But the budget is not the crucial aspect here but the intention. And the initiative needs to come from the leader, you!
Over the years, I have met Spa Managers who skipped a holiday get-together for their team as they felt the team did not ask for it, it was too busy, and there was no money. I have always considered a holiday get-together as a sort of team-building. I didn’t care what the team thought upfront but rather brainstormed ideas to surprise my team and make a get-together an exciting moment for them.
As the team leader, I felt it was my responsibility to cheer up the team during the busy holidays and show them my gratitude for giving the entire year. It was the time for me to give back, back some appreciation, some gratitude, and some love.
No matter how many reasons were brought against such a get-together, I heard them, but together with my team, I found solutions, so any objection was not valid anymore. If it was too busy, ok, let’s get together the first week of January and celebrate then. If there was no budget, ok, let’s find an extremely budget-friendly way. As the Spa Leader, if you believe in the benefit of team building, then you find ways to make the holiday spirit happen.
For your inspiration, here are five festive ideas on how you can celebrate your team and say thank you:
Organize a Secret Santa. Small intentions offered one to another bring employees together and allow them to get to know one another better. Tip: set a $ limit for gifts.
Have a cookie contest! That’s a fun and cost-effective idea to celebrate, and lots of joy is guaranteed! Get cookies and decorating tools from your pastry team and get the party starting.
Share with your team how grateful you are through a hand-written thank you note and hand this over to each team member during a holiday tea. Check out this Expert Tip of the Week for getting started.
Get in touch with your vendors and suppliers. Check with them if they may contribute to a holiday raffle for your team. Then plan an hour together and surprise each team member with a gift! Such a raffle is cost-effective, highly motivational, and educative as your team gets to experience the products from your Spa. Read this Expert Tip of the Week for more insights.
Plan a gratitude breakfast in early January if it is too busy around the holidays. Every team member could bring a little gift for one other team member. Limit the $ amount, but it may also be a personal note, a trinket, whatever. Such a type of gratitude celebration celebrates one another, as well as your team’s accomplishments of the year.
No matter what your holiday celebration with your team will look like: Just do it!
